Vet Med Trail Pack's High Line Kit is designed with the input from persons involved in both Search and Rescue Mounted teams and Back Country Horsemen. This high line kit incorporates the ideals of rugged safety and light-weight construction. This kit has enough equipment to safely secure two horses and/or mules in the back country while observing the "leave no trace" guidelines supported by the National Forest. For the least impact on the environment, stock animal should be secured at least 10 feet from the base of a tree and at least that distance from another animal. This kit has 50 feet of cotton rope (preferred for safety from cuts and burns over climbing ropes and webbing), allowing ample room for two equines or other stock animals to be secured between trees in the back country. Because ropes secured around trees have the potential of shafing and girdling a tree, it also has two sets of flat webbing to loop flattly around the trees. At a height of at least 7 feet, to allow stock to safely walk below the level of the rope, this system is easy to set up and secure. To add ease of tensioning and assembly, we have added a 1500# rated thumb ratchet to adjust tension along the highline as the horses move about and lightly stretch the cotton line. Finally, we have added two sets of pressik loops to securely tie the stock to the highline and prevent travel of stock along the line. These loops are easily adjusted along the highline as desired but then offer a no-slip advantage when tightened with the weight of your lead rope. The kit comes with an assembly instruction guide and general "leave no trace" guidelines. Kit Weight: 2.6 lbs.
